We've been at Ocean Isle beach for the past week, enjoying a little sun, though not TOO much. Eleanor sports an SPF 100 rash guard and SPF 50 hat along with her SPF 55 baby sunscreen whenever we take her down to the shore. She seems mesmerized by the incoming waves and loves napping on the beach. And while this hasn't been much of a vacation from my day to day responsibilities, the change of scene and particularly the company, has been great. The 7 hour car ride tomorrow however, will most likely not be.

Mother's Day is the New Christmas

I have had the best Mother's Day weekend - better than I could ever have imagined - thanks to Ryan. And I suppose thanks go to Ellie too, who lets me be a mother. Between the hours of naps here and there all weekend, a 90 minute massage at a spa in Georgetown, a pancake breakfast and steak lunch (cooked for my whole family), Ryan has really set the bar high for all future Mother's Days. In a few years, Eleanor will be able to help him out, and I really look forward to that. I just hope they all include extra opportunities for sleep!
